Concrete screws, commonly known as masonry screws, are heavy-duty fasteners designed to thread directly into pre-drilled holes in concrete, brick, or block. These screws are made from high-strength, heat-treated carbon steel and are often coated with specialized ceramic or epoxy finishes (such as Blue Climaseal) to withstand the harsh alkalinity of masonry. Their distinctive “high-low” thread design allows for lower driving torque and a much higher grip in porous substrates.
Compared to traditional expansion anchors, concrete screws offer a high load capacity without creating expansion stress, allowing for installation closer to edges. They are also easily removable and reusable. Typical applications include anchoring HVAC systems, electrical boxes, perimeter plates, and door frames to masonry surfaces.
